Tonya's story....

Tonya started playing the piano by ear at a very early age.
Later she was accepted to study in a State Music School No 2 in Russia – her home country – where she graduated. Tonya has studied the pianoforte as her main speciality, with other subjects such as Music Theory, Choir Singing and Accompaniment in addition. She appeared in many performances and competitions as a solo pianist and as a part of the Music School Choir as a child.
Tonya plays in recitals UK wide and, on occasions, internationally. Although Piano is her main instrument, Tonya also plays organ. She had held a post of organist at Kirkhill and Kiltarlity churches from 2014 until 2018.
In March 2017, Tonya won the final round of the Leeds University Union Music Society (LUUMS) Piano and Chamber competition, in the solo piano category. She has finished her studies at the University of Leeds in September 2018, thus completing her Postgraduate course in Piano Performance. In the academic year of 2017/2018 Tonya was also studying on the Advanced Continuing Education course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, studying with the world renowned pianist and recording artist Sinae Lee. During her initial time at the University of Leeds, Tonya has been mentored by another international concert pianist - Jill Crossland.
In September 2019 Tonya has received a funded place to study on a 3-year Masters of Education course (Teaching Artist pathway) at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Amongst the recent professional highlights is the 1st place in the 8th International Competition 'Talents of Russia' in August 2020.
